Over the years the Physicians and staff at OUCH have established a legacy of giving and, in particular, giving back to the community. In addition to sponsoring countless local sports team, leagues and athletes the following are highlights of our years of giving.
Temecula-Murrieta Valley High School Sports Physicals
Dr. Jerry Hizon began as team doctor for Temecula Valley High School when it first started and is still going strong after 20 years. He provided low cost sports physicals for years with all the money going to the athletic department budget. Dr. Kay joined Dr. Hizon in 1996 and together they donated their time in providing thousands of sports physicals for many different high schools from San Diego to the Valley.
In 2003 they combined a legion of volunteers, along with strong support from Rancho Physical Therapy and Dr. John Waite, to develop the annual Temecula-Murrieta Valley High Sports Physical program. The event occurs annually and is open to all local area high schools and is conducted at Chaparral High School. Last year they raised over $50,000 for schools and have now raised in excess of $200,000 since inception.
Team Physicians for Local High Schools
Since starting in 2001 OUCH has provided medical services for local high schools and have been team physicians on the sidelines for most football games. OUCH has also provided a free post-football game clinic for the evaluation of serious injuries incurred during the games. The physicians and staff at OUCH have provided thousands of hours of free medical care and services.
Teaching Medical Students, Interns, and Residents in Training
